Building and Structural : Overview

The Building Division is available to assist anyone with questions or concerns during the hours of 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday for Permit Processing.

The Division is supported by Chief Building Official Samuel Zannini, Building Inspector Michael DiBartolomeo, Electrical Inspector Ken Sherwood and the Building Secretary Pamela Russell. This division is responsible for overseeing construction within its jurisdiction by implementation and enforcement of local codes and ordinances.

The Town of Salem is required to comply with the State Building Code (RSA155A), International Residential Code, International Building Code (IBC), the National Electrical Code NFPA70, the International Plumbing Code (IPC), Fuel Gas Co., NFPA54 and the Accessibility Code IBC/ANSI 117A.

Chief Building Official Samuel Zannini is also the liaison to the Zoning Board of Adjustment.
